Abstract:

In Turkey, the children's development departments at the bachelor's level are connected to the faculties of health sciences, the universities of health sciences and the universities of health. The Children's Development Department gives graduates the title "Child Development" at the end of the four-year bachelor's education. In Turkey, children’s developers work in health, education, social services and other sectors. According to the Health Education and Human Power Report of Turkey, between 2003 and 2013 a total of 3032 children’s developers have graduated. According to the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, every person between 0 and 18 years of age is regarded as a child. According to data from the Turkish Statistical Bureau, there are a total of 22,891,140 children in Turkey as of 2017. All of these data reveal the need for medical licenses in the field of child development that will evaluate, support and follow the development of children in Turkey. Children have many developmental, biological and psychological needs. These demands are the responsibilities and responsibilities of children’s developers in the fields of development, including cognitive, language, motor, social and emotional development. Therefore, the study is aimed at studying the work of children developers working in the field of health care in the units involved. In this study, the practices of children developers working in the field of health have been studied. Qualitative research is a type of research that follows a qualitative process to reveal perceptions and events in a realistic and comprehensive manner in the natural environment, in which the methods of qualitative data collection, such as observation, conversation and document analysis are used. The main methods of data collection that are most commonly used in quality research are the conversation technique. The study also conducted conversations with a total of 381 children’s developers working according to the Ministry of Health. In the framework of the study, the Ministry of Health of Turkey Public Hospitals Institution and the Ministry of Public Health of Turkey have been discussed with children developers who work in the provinces of Ankara, Istanbul, İzmir, Bursa, Aydin, Samsun and Manisa. One of the participants is 15 men and 15 women. The average age of the participants is 27.1 and nine married, seven single. Participants are graduates of the Department of Child Development of Hacettepe and Ankara University. Three of the participants also received a master's degree and continues their doctoral studies, five have completed their master's studies and two continue their master's studies. According to the data obtained from the talks, children’s developers who work in the health sector can reach children between 0 and 18 years of age; they frequently work in clinics, bed service and play rooms; the most developmental assessments, developmental support and development tracking as intervention have been achieved.
