Abstract:

This study aims to adapt the scale developed in order to measure the player’s experience in sports video games. Scale sports video games are designed to examine the gaming experience of the players through 6 subdimensions. The research group of the study was formed by individuals who actively played sports video games. According to this, the research group consisted of a total of 250 people, including 244 men (97.6%) and 6 women (2.40%). In the implementation of the statistical processes of the data obtained from the research group, the IBM SPSS 25.0 package program has been used with the LISREL program. To test the validity and reliability of the measurement, the material analysis, the reliability analysis, the total correlation analysis of the material, the substance differentiability analysis and the explanatory factor analysis have been performed. DFA made for scale and sub-dimensions, conformity index, AVE-CR and reliability values are considered. The results were identified as x2/df=2,101, CFI=0,99, GFI=0,93, AGFI=0,91, NNFI=0,99, NFI=0,98, RMR=0,063, SRMR=0,038. The conformity index indicates that the scale of Turkish adaptation is among the acceptable limits. The Cronbach’s Alpha and CR values of the subdimensions in the Turkish form of the measurement are distributed between 0.82 and 0.96. It is also found that the AVE values show a distribution between 0.63 and 0.86. The scale of player experience in sports video games has been found to be a valid and reliable measurement tool created from the Turkish form of 21 items and 6 sub-dimensions.
