Abstract:

CAMELS performans değerleme modeli, bankaların risk bazlı denetimi sırasında genel durumunun belirlenmesinde ve uzaktan gözetim faaliyetlerinde kullanılan bir değerleme sistemidir. CAMELS ilk harflerini aldığı 6 bileşenden oluşmaktadır. Buna göre; C sermaye yeterliliğini (capital adequacy), A aktif kalitesini (asset quality); M yönetim yeterliliğini (management adequacy); E kazanç durumunu (earnings); L likiditeyi (liquidity); S ise piyasa risklerine duyarlılığını (sensitivity to market risk) temsil etmektedir. Çalışmada, CAMELS analiz yöntemi ile Türk bankacılık sisteminde yer alan kamu, özel ve yabancı sermayeli mevduat bankalarının mali durumlarını tespit etmek amaçlanmıştır. Bu bağlamda çalışmada, 2002-2010 dönemine ilişkin veriler kullanılarak banka gruplarının karşılaştırmalı analizi yapılmıştır. Elde edilen bulgular doğrultusunda sermaye yeterliliği, piyasa risklerine duyarlılık ve yönetim yeterliliği açısından kamu sermayeli mevduat bankalarının; karlılık açısından özel sermayeli mevduat bankalarının; aktif kalitesi ve likidite açısından ise yabancı sermayeli mevduat banklarının diğer banka gruplarına göre daha iyi durumda oldukları tespit edilmiştir. Anahtar Kelimeler: CAMELS analizi, banka, mevduat bankaları, performans, değerleme.
