Abstract:

Turkey has exposed to (suffered from) attacks by terrorist organizations throughout history. It has witnessed PKK (‘‘The Kurdistan Workers’ Party’’ in English; and ‘‘Partiya Karkerên Kurdistanê’’ in Kurdish) terrorism which began actually (de facto) in 1984. In this article, we will address the existed terrorist organizations with main lines, as well as PKK terrorism, and will try to present fighting methods against PKK terrorism, in particular. Specially, events which happened in Southeastern region in Turkey and matters such as economic, social and cultural structure of the region (landlordship/aghaship system, multi-child families/philoprogenitiveness and inadequate in educational status and so on), demographic structure, geographic structure (being border/frontier region and mountainous and so forth) and etc., formed an inevitable basis for terrorist organizations and caused to terrorist incidents. Particularly, in the context of the neighbours which are located around geopolitical and geostrategical location of Turkey and its enemies, Turkey has subjected to attacks throughout history and the said certain factors in the region have turned into policy of putting upon by (being used), in particular. This article was presented by literature review upon the relevant works to the issue.
