Abstract:

This study aims to determine the trends in the field by analysing scientific articles published in the field of biotechnology education in terms of bibliometric indicators. For this purpose, the tendencies in 81 articles published in the field of biotechnology education and bibliometric analysis were revealed between 1998 and 2021. The Web of Science (WoS) database has been scanned using keywords groups "biotechnology", "genetic engineering" modified organisms", "cloning" and "biotechnology education". To analyze the data in the study using the VOSviewer program, the number of publications per year, the distribution of publications per magazine, the five most active magazines publishing, the number of references to articles per year, the five most referenced studies, the first 20 countries publishing the most in biotech education, the network map of bibliographic matching based on countries and documents, the network map of references based on authors, documents and universities, the network map based on resources quoted in terms of common reference of studies, the network map based on authors and universities based on the network map and the network map based on the country map. The study is believed that the use of bibliometric analysis will describe the studies conducted in the field of biotechnology education and will provide a perspective on scientific production and determine the trends in the field.
