Abstract:

Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL) is a hematological cancer disease that significantly reduces the quality of life of individuals. The presence of CLL and a concomitant chronic disease adversely affects the body of the individual and negatively affects the oncological treatment that he will receive or has received. In the researches, It has been determined that COVID 19, which causes many deaths all over the world, adversely affects individuals receiving oncological treatment. Nurses have played a major role in the recovery of individuals diagnosed with oncological cancer and COVID 19, especially in hospitals. By helping the individual in the process of improving and protecting the health of the sick individual, adapting to treatment and disease; practices related to self-care and nursing systems. Orem, on the other hand, supports the independent function of nurses; states that they should help and guide in case of deviation from health. Therefore, in this study the care of a patient diagnosed with CLL and COVID-19 was planned according to Orem's Self-Care Insufficiency Theory, appropriate interventions were applied, and the results were evaluated. The patient's nursing care plan was given within the framework of universal self-care, developmental self-care and health deviation self-care needs. As a result, it was seen that the nursing care given in line with Orem's Self-Care Disability Theory had positive effects on the patient.
