Abstract:

The use of nursing theories and models in nursing practices enables the practice to be based on a conceptual basis, the ability to be independent of nurses and to apply from their own perspective. Orem’s Care Deficiency Theory is a model that is commonly used in many patients groups. In this article, the presentation of this phenomenon addressing a patient who is treated by sinking with the diagnosis of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder in a university hospital's psychiatric clinic, the Orem's Care Disability Theory provides the individual's self-care, provides the individual's support in improving the self-care sufficiency and the supporting educational nursing care process that addresses the individual together with his family for the sustainability of care. The patient’s data is collected according to the theory to four areas: the basic situation factors, the universal, the developmental and the self-care requirements in deprivation of health. Nursing care, according to the "Nursing process system"; data assessment, nursing diagnosis, purposes, interventions have been carried out within the framework of nursing system and assistance method and assessment areas.
