Abstract:

In this study, it is aimed to examine the experiences of the coaches regarding the effectiveness of football coaching education programs. In the research, in which the phenomenology pattern, one of the qualitative research methods, was used, the criterion sampling method, one of the purposeful sampling methods, was used. 20 football UEFA A coach candidates, who were accepted to the Coaching Education Program (AEP) conducted by the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) in Antalya in 2022, participated in the research. The data were obtained through face-to-face interviews using the literature and a semi-structured interview form consisting of 5 questions, which was reached at the end of the pilot study. The data were summarized and interpreted within the framework of the descriptive analysis technique and by separating the descriptive experiences into main themes. According to the analysis results, Findings consisting of coaching experiences for online meetings, seminars and practice, assessment and evaluation processes and the general organization of the coaching education program were reached. As a result, making the online meetings held before the coaching education programs more qualified in terms of orientation, providing qualified documents in the seminar, providing coaching on the use of tactical animation programs, reducing the curriculum for practical education to an applicable density, exam, and grade anxiety on the coaches for assessment and evaluation processes. It is thought that taking measures for this purpose, reducing the course fees to more reasonable amounts, and improving the quality of services provided during the seminar, such as accommodation and logistics, will make significant contributions to making the AEP more effective and efficient.
