Abstract:

The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of work-life balance of flight attendants on their professional burnout. Establishing the right work-life balance in flight attendants, whose working hours are intense and work schedule is tiring, can affect all relations of the employees. In the study, quantitative data were collected using a questionnaire. The universe of the research consists of cabin attendants, including Istanbul New Airport (IGA). By using the survey method, 412 employees were reached. SPSS 21.0 program, Pearson correlation and regression test were used as analysis method in the research. The relationship between the scale scores was analyzed with the Pearson correlation test and the effect was analyzed with the regression test. The model established to examine the effect of Work-Life Balance on Burnout is meaningful. When the results are examined, Work-Life Balance affects Burnout negatively. It is observed that there are differences according to demographic variability such as age, gender, marital status, education level, working time. In addition, it is thought that the study will form a basis for future research in the fields of work-life balance and professional burnout in the civil aviation sector and contribute to the literature.
