Abstract:

Education and training are among the important public services that should be provided under the supervision of the state. Teachers are a human factor determining this service's effectiveness and efficiency. Various criteria have been developed, and plot studies have been carried out to measure the performance of teachers working in the Ministry of National Education. This study aims to measure teacher perceptions regarding the effectiveness of individual performance evaluation criteria. In order to measure perceptions in the study, questionnaires compiled from the "Teacher Performance Evaluation Form" prepared by the Ministry Inspection Board were used. The data obtained from 361 questionnaires collected from teachers working in public schools in Niğde were analyzed with descriptive statistics and non-parametric tests. As a result, the teachers deemed performance evaluation necessary, and it was concluded that self-evaluation and in-house evaluation (except for group teachers) are more effective in the multiple evaluation process. In addition, there is a perception that performance evaluation criteria are sufficient for effective performance measurement. As a result of hypothesis tests, differences in perception levels according to age and duties are undertaken.
