Abstract:

One of the lessons the most popular of the natural resources that people benefit throughout their lives is the Social Knowledge lesson. The aim of this study is to identify the level in which concepts related to natural resources are included in the Social Information curriculum and books. Thus, it is revealed in what class level and in what intensity the subjects of natural resources that are closely related to the Social Information course are given in the Social Information teaching. One of the leading courses in terms of educating individuals who are aware of natural resources is the Social Knowledge course. The social knowledge course has quite rich content in terms of the concepts related to natural resources. In order to study the concepts related to natural resources in this context, the Social Information Course Curriculum, the curriculum and the student study books have been studied. The data collected through document examination from the quality research methods in the research was analyzed through content analysis. In the review process, the achievements, skills and values involved in the natural resources in the curriculum and in the curriculum books were also assessed and indicated which concepts were included at which class level. The research resulted in the conclusion that the concepts related to natural resources not specified in the Social Information Teaching Program were specified in the curricula and that these concepts were more superficially addressed in the curriculum. It has been found that the subject of natural resources, which is a very important topic for mankind, is appropriately included in the social information curriculum, in the curriculum and in the workbooks at every class level.
