Abstract:

The main objective of this study is to empirically analyze the interaction with CO2 emissions of foreign direct investments that enter the economy of Turkey within the framework of globalization. In line with this objective, eco-nomic globalization has been attempted to empirically determine its long-term determination on CO2 emissions by means of FMOLS, DOLS and CCR methods, income per person and direct foreign investment. Also, the long-term interaction between the relevant variables was analyzed by the Johansen Integration test. The empirical results obtained from all the methods used indicate that economic globalization, income per person, foreign direct investments and CO2 emissions have long-term interactions, and that the economic globalization for the Turkish economy, income per person and the increasing right-to-foreign investment in parallel increases pollution. The most positive effect on CO2 emissions appears to be direct in foreign investments.
