Abstract:

The aim of this study is to study the relationship between paternalist (babacan) leadership behaviors of school managers and creative leadership levels according to teachers’ opinions. The research, which is a Nicel study, is designed in the relative scan model. The universe of research 2020-2021 educational year is formed by teachers who are engaged in MEB-related primary, primary, secondary and secondary schools in Kahramanmaraş province. The research used the data collection tool as the "Paternalist Leadership Behavior Scale of School Managers" and the "Creative Leadership Characteristics Scale of School Managers" and the "Personal Information Form (prepared by researchers)" as well. The study found that school managers have a statistically meaningful, positive and low-level relationship between paternalist leadership behavior and creative leadership characteristics. The study also studied whether school managers' paternalist leadership levels and creativity leadership characteristics differ according to gender, civil status, age, educational status and demographic variables such as the institution in which they work. According to the findings obtained, school managers have found paternalist leadership behavior scores to gender, civic status and institutional variables in which they work; while school managers' creative scores only statistically differ according to the institutional variable in which they work.
