Abstract:

This study aims to thoroughly explore the experiences of single egg twin adolescents with regard to the process of twin bond and separation-integration. To be a healthy individual in the context of Twin Psychology, it requires a healthy separation and integration and a healthy twin bond. These two processes are both related to each other and are significantly affected by each other. It is also defined as areas where twins experience many problems in the summer. The study of these two processes together is also important for twins to develop a healthy identity. Healthy identity development is also important at the point of twins’ individualization processes. In this study, three women-women, three men-man single egg twins, which were achieved by the cartopus sampling method, were interviewed. The personal information form prepared by the researcher and semi-configured interview questions were asked separately to each twin spouse. In the research, analyses conducted using the interpretative phenomenological analysis method found top top topics of separation and integration, twins and twins' paradox. Under the top topic of separation and integration, the parents’ attitudes, similarities and common experiences, the main themes of role complexity; the top theme of twins; the fear of separation, the fear of loss of twins; and the main themes of self-binding to twins; finally, under the top theme of twins' paradox, the main themes of individualization and competition have emerged. Top topics, main topics and subcategories have been discussed in the light of the summer, with recommendations for future studies and employees.
