Abstract:

The ontological concepts that determine the structures of reality, the epistemological concepts that determine how to reach their knowledge, and the methodological concepts that determine how to evaluate the obtained information in a systematic thought, are always in relation to political thought. In this context, positivism has been carrying certain political directions within it from the day it emerged. In the mid-19th century, positivism was seen as a social and political puzzle in France, against aristocratic-centric resistance and the opposition of the poor folk layers that threatened the current sovereign relations. In the field of orientation, even the most apparent apolitical suggestions of positivism – independently of the intentions of their applicants – are in line with this political mission.
