Abstract:

In this research the aim is to evaluate the effect of parent involved social skill aktivities on the social skills of preschool children. This research is based on quantitative research on experimental design. The study was designed as a pretest-posttest-retention test control group experimental study.  The study group of this research are the normally developing children aged 6 (60-72 months) who are ongoing students of preschools that are under MEB in the years of 2016-2017. In the first experimental group there is 18 children, in the second one there is 22 and in the control group there are 18 children which makes the total of 58 preschool children which had been included to this research. A “demographic information form” had been constituted by the resaerchers to gain information about the child, parent and teacher. Preschool and Kindergarten Behaviour Scale had been use to specify the social skill level of children. The social skill plays were implemented by the preschool teachers for 8 weeks, 3 days per week and 45 minutes per day. For both the first and the second experimental group the social skill plays were the same however the main difference is researchers of this project developped 8 different plays that are supporting the social skills of the second experimental group and in these plays parent involment is included. According to the analysis that are made, between the experimental group 1, experimental group 2 and the control group, experimental group 2 in which parent participation was included had a difference of p<0.05.
