Abstract:

Ludwig von Mises. It should never be doubted that he is one of the greatest economists of the century. Mises, despite the various mythologies that are described on the right and left, never worked under a scientific or popular forgetting. Before World War I, along with The Theory of Money and Credit (Theory of Money and Credit - 1912) Mises recognized himself among the young generation in the German-speaking economy world, and essentially more widely as a leading economic theorist in Continental Europe, and during the 1920s and 1930s between war years, Mises' reputation as a theorist and methodologist spread internationally. In the UK (such as Lionel Robbins) and in the United States (such as Frank Knight), the leading economic thinkers began to study Mises' contribution to the economics and become critically engaged with his ideas. Thro this time, the successes of students such as F. A. Hayek, Fritz Machlup, Oskar Morgenstern, Gottfried News, Felix Kaufman, and Alfred Schutz spread from the German-speaking scientific community to the whole of Europe and eventually to the international scientific community, Mises increased its reputation as a remarkable teacher and intellectual teacher for young economists.
