Abstract:

The COVID- 19's becoming a pandemic has affected all areas of our lives and has accelerated the transition to a new age, especially in education. As in all stages of education, significant changes have occurred in higher education, along with the pandemic, and these changes have also affected the pre-service training processes of teachers candidates who study in the educational faculty. The contribution of education and teaching application course received at the bachelor level in the development of teaching professional skills cannot be denied. The demonstration of how the faculty degree programs that continue with distance education in the pandemic process influence the professional qualifications of teachers candidates will contribute to the field of teaching in the event of similar processes in the future periods. Therefore, the purpose of the research is to examine the professional skills of the COVID-19 pandemic process teachers candidates. The research is designed in a form of a quality situation study. The last class teachers candidates who are studying in the nine bachelor’s program in the educational faculty of a state university located in the south of Turkey have formed the participants of the research. In the selection of participants, a maximum variety of sampling strategy has been used for the purpose of sampling from sampling strategies. The data of the research was obtained by a semi-structured viewing form due to pandemic. The findings obtained from the content analysis; showed the teaching candidates' perceptions of professional qualification, the impact of the teaching practice course on professional qualification and their views on the beginning of the teaching profession in the pandemic process.
