This study examined the role of thought styles and empathy in the explanation of the ability of psychological consultants to solve problems. The model of the research is defined as a relative scan based on the quantum research approach. The study was conducted with a total of 188 candidates for psychological consultants, including 138 girls and 50 men who studied in different classes. In the collection of the data of the study; "Problem Solving Reserve", "Thinking Styles Scale", "Basic Empathy Scale" and "Personal Information Form" were used. The results from the study found that the ability of psychological consultants to solve problems was meaningfully and positively explained by complex thinking styles, simple thinking styles and cognitive empathy variables. However, it has been found that the emotional empathy of the candidates for psychological counseling differs significantly for the benefit of the girls and the complex thinking style for the benefit of the male students. But the problem-solving ability, cognitive empathy and simple thinking style have not shown any meaningful differences by gender. It is also found that the ability to solve problems of psychological consultants is significantly different to the benefit of fourth-class students; emotional empathy, cognitive empathy, complex thinking style and simple thinking style do not make any significant differences according to class level.
