Abstract:

This study aims to investigate the relationship between the choice criteria of the university students with the personality characteristics. The universe of research has been created by students studying at Munzur University. The sample of the study consists of 229 women, 152 men, and a total of 381 university students, selected by random sampling method, continuing to study at Munzur University in the 2019-2020 academic year. As a data collection tool, the scale of Romanticism and Couple Selection Criteria and the scale of Personality Characteristics were used. In data analysis, the SPSS 25.0 (Statistical Package for Social Sciences) package program and the statistical methods of correlation analysis (pearson correlation ratio) and multiple regression analysis were used. According to the research findings; exhaust, emotional balance, experience openness, responsibility, and soft headline variables, the participants have a low but statistically meaningless effect on the equal choice level, R2=0.106, p<.01. The characteristics of excentricity, emotional balance, openness to experience, responsibility and soft headline personality, together, describe approximately 1% of the total variation at the level of choice of couples.
