27 Mayıs 1960 tarihindeki darbenin ardından kurulan Milli Birlik Komitesi, basın alanındaki baskıcı uygulamaları engellemek için basına birtakım haklar getirmiştir. 212 sayılı kanunla gazetecilerin sosyal haklarını güvence altına alan komite, 195 sayılı kanunla reklam-ilan dağıtımını eşitlikçi bir zemine oturtmuştur. Ancak dönemin önde gelen dokuz gazete sahibi gazetecilere sağlanan maddi ve manevi hakları karşılamak istememiş ve reklam-ilan ile ilgili düzenlemelere de karşı çıkmıştır. Ortak bir bildiri yayınlayan patronlar üç gün boyunca gazete çıkarmayacaklarını duyurmuşlardır. Bu gelişme, basın tarihine Dokuz Gazete Olayı olarak geçmiştir. Söz konusu gazetelerde çalışan basın emekçileri ise patronlara karşı haklarını savunmak için hareket başlatmışlardır. Halkın haber alma hakkına ve kendilerine sağlanan yasal güvencelere sahip çıkan gazeteciler üç gün Basın isimli gazeteyi yayınlayarak önemli bir direniş örneği sergilemişlerdir. Basın gazetesi patrona karşı direnip haklarını arayan gazetecilerin yayını olması nedeniyle gazeteci, patron ve iktidar arasındaki ilişkilere yönelik önemli mesajları barındıran bir gazete olmuştur. Bu öneme istinaden çalışmada 11-13 Ocak 1961 tarihleri arasında çıkarılan Basın gazetesi haberler ve köşe yazıları üzerinden incelenmiştir. Araştırmanın amacı, gazetecilerin çıkarmış olduğu yayındaki haberlerde hangi değerlere odaklanıldığını ve haberlerdeki söylemlerin nasıl kurgulandığını saptamaktır. Eleştirel söylem analizi yönteminin kullanıldığı çalışmanın sonunda haberlerde direniş, birlik ve beraberlik, kamu yararı, hak mücadelesi, örgütlenme gibi söylemlere ağırlık verildiği saptanmıştır. Bununla birlikte basın emekçilerinin haklarını korumak adına güçlü bir direniş sergiledikleri ve kamuoyu oluşturdukları görülmüştür. Öte yandan gazetecilerin görüş ayrımı olmadan örgütlenmelerinde ise ülkedeki siyasi ortamın ve basına tanınan kanunların etkili olduğunu söylemek mümkündür.
The National Unity Committee, established after the coup on 27 May 1960, granted the press rights to prevent repressive practices in the press field. The committee, which guaranteed the rights of journalists by law 212, established the distribution of advertising and advertisements on an egalitarian basis by law 195. However, nine newspaper owners of the period did not want to cover the rights granted to journalists, and also opposed regulations on advertising and advertising distribution. The bosses, who issued a joint statement, announced that they would not publish newspapers for three days. This development has passed into the history of the press as Nine Newspaper Incident. Journalists working in these newspapers have started a movement to defend their rights against bosses. Journalists who had the right of the public to receive news and the legal guarantees provided to them demonstrated an example of resistance by publishing a newspaper called the Basın for three days. Because the Basın is a publication of journalists who resist and seek their rights, it has been a publication that contains important messages about the relations between the journalist, boss and power. In this study, the newspaper Basın, published between 11-13 January 1961, was examined through news and columns. The aim of the research is to determine which values are focused on in the news in the newspaper published by the journalists and how the discourses in the news are constructed. The critical discourse analysis method was used in the study. As a result of the study, it was determined that discourses such as resistance, public interest, the struggle for rights and organization were emphasized in the news. In addition to this, it has been observed that the press workers exhibited a strong resistance to protect their rights and formed a public opinion. On the other hand, it is possible to say that the political environment in the country and the laws given to the press are effective in the organization of journalists without any discrimination.
