Basit Makineler Ünitesinin Öğretiminde Kullanılan Kavram Karikatürlerinin 8.sınıf Öğrencilerinin Başarılarına ve Kavramsal Anlama Düzeylerine Etkisi

Abstract:

Bu araştırmanın amacı, ilköğretim 8. sınıf Fen Bilimleri dersi öğretim programında yer alan “Basit Makineler” ünitesinin öğretiminde kavram karikatürü kullanımının öğrencilerin akademik başarılarına ve kavramsal anlama düzeylerine etkisini incelemektir. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu 2019-2020 Eğitim-Öğretim yılı Gaziantep İli, Şahinbey İlçesi’nde bulunan bir ortaokulun 8. sınıf düzeyinde öğrenim gören 81 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Çalışmada ön test son test kontrol gruplu yarı deneysel desen kullanılmıştır. 8. Sınıf düzeyinde yer alan iki sınıf, rastgele yöntemle biri kontrol grubu diğeri deney grubu olarak atanmıştır. Araştırmanın kontrol grubunda mevcut MEB Fen Bilimleri Dersi Öğretim programına göre, deney grubunda ise dersler kavram karikatürleri ile desteklendirilmiş MEB programına göre işlenmiştir. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak “Basit Makineler Ünite Başarı Testi” ve “Basit Makineler Kavramsal Anlama Testi” kullanılmıştır. Verilerin analizinden deney ve kontrol grubunun son test başarı puanları ve kavramsal anlama puanları arasında istatistiksel olarak deney grubu lehine anlamlı bir fark olduğu tespit edildi. Bu sonuca göre, kavram karikatürleri ile desteklendirilmiş öğretim programı uygulanan deney grubu öğrencilerinin, kontrol grubu öğrencilerine göre akademik başarı ve kavramsal anlama düzeyleri açısından daha başarılı oldukları söylenebilir.

Abstract:

The purpose of this research is to study the impact of the use of concept cartoon in the teaching of the "Simple Machines" unit included in the 8th grade of primary education science course in the teaching program on students' academic achievements and conceptual level of understanding. The research work group 2019-2020 Education-Teaching Year is composed of 81 students who study at the 8th grade of a secondary school located in Gaziantep, Shahinbey District. The study used a semi-experimental pattern with the last test control group. and 8. Two classes at the class level are randomly assigned, one as a control group and the other as a experiment group. The research control group is based on the existing MEB Science Course Undergraduate Program, while in the experiment group the courses are processed according to the MEB program supported by concept cartoons. The research used the "Simple Machinery Unit Success Test" and the "Simple Machinery Conceptual Understanding Test" as a data collection tool. The analysis of the data found that there was a statistically significant difference in the benefit of the experiment group between the test and control group’s final test success points and the conceptual understanding points. According to this conclusion, it can be said that the students of the experimental group applied the curriculum supported by the concept cartoons are more successful in terms of academic success and conceptual level of understanding than the control group students.
