Abstract:

The data of this research made to study the identity structure, the forms of romantic relationships and the relationship between gender was obtained from 400 university students who are studying at the Faculty of Administrative Economic Social Sciences of Istanbul Development University in the 2018-2019 academic year. The research data were collected using the Relational-Individual-Community Self Scale (RIC) and the Love-Related Attitudes Scale (LAS), in the analysis of the data; Cronbach Alpha values for scale reliability, Pearson Correlation Analysis for the identification of the relationship between Self Structure and Romantic Relationship Forms, the independent sample t test was applied to determine whether there is meaningful difference between Self Structure and Romantic Relationship Forms according to gender. The analysis found that between the individuality self-structure and the passionate, friendly and logical form of love; between the relationship self-structure and the passionate, logical, possessive and resume form of love; between the sociality self-structure and the friendly, logical, possessive and resume form of love, there was a positive meaningful relationship; in men the game and resume form of love at a higher level than in women, there was a higher level of reasonable form of love in women than in men, and ultimately women had a higher level of individuality self-structure than in men.
