Muhammed b. Hasan es-Semennudî, Mısır’ın Semânud şehrinde dünyaya geldi. Ezher’de Mustafa Kemâleddin Bekrî’nin halifesi Muhammed b. Salim el-Hifnî’ye intisab etmiş ve ondan Halvetiyye tarikatı icazetini almıştır. Tuhfetu’s-Sâlikîn, Muhammed b. Hasan es-Semennudî’nin, tarikat ehlinin yoluna sülûk etmek isteyenler ile tahkik ehlinin mertebelerine rağbeti olanların ihtiyaç duyduğu bilgileri topladığı bir eseridir. Eser, on bölüm ve bir sonuçtan meydana gelmektedir. Eserde sırasıyla, Ahd ve telkin, zikir ve zikrin adabı, tarikatın usulleri, şeyh ve müridin adabı, müridin tarikattan kovulmasına sebep olacak hususlar, tarikatta yardımcı edecek hizmet birimleri ve bunların adabı, nefis ve mertebeleri, rüyada görülen semboller, rüya çeşitleri gibi konular ele alınmıştır.Sonuç kısmı ise ehli tasavvufun kullandıkları bazı tasavvufî ıstılahlar hakkındadır. Muhammad B. Hasan al-Semennudi was born in the Egyptian city of Semânud. In Ezher, the Khalifa of Mustafa Kemâleddin Bekrî, Muhammad b. Salim al-Hifnî, and from him he received the exhortation to the Halvetiyya. Thus, Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) is the one who gives the knowledge to the people of the world, and to the people of the world, and to the people of the world, and to the people of the world.
