Bu makalede, Türkiye’nin tarım politikasının Avrupa Birliği (AB) adaylığı sürecinin başlangıcından bu yana nasıl şekillendiği, gerek tarım politikasının işleyişinin gerekse kullanılan politika araçlarındaki paradigmal değişimin nasıl ve hangi öncelikler doğrultusunda gerçekleştiği ortaya konulmaya çalışılmaktadır. Bu değişim sürecinde, Türkiye’nin tarım politikasının işleyişi, geçmişteki deneyimlerine de vurgu yapılarak, AB’nin Ortak Tarım Politikası (OTP) ile benzeşen ve farklılaşan yönleri neden sonuç ilişkisi içinde incelenirken, özellikle son on yılda AB’nin tarım konusundaki güncel yaklaşımları ile Türkiye’nin sürece uyumu, AB Komisyonu tarafından hazırlanan İlerleme Raporları, 2003-2017 Stratejik Planı, Müzakere fasıllarına ilişkin notlar ve 2014-2020 Ulusal Kırsal Kalkınma Planı’ndan yararlanılarak tartışılacaktır.
