Abstract:

In the process from the day to day, one of the indispensable subjects of the history of photography is children. The future, the energy of life, creativity, freedom, misery, kindness, innocence, etc. The children, which are symbols, have attracted the interest of photographers in all periods with their unique interesting worlds, their nature in their expression and behavior. This has led to a number of disputes on the rights of the child. When taking and sharing images of children in need of care and protection, all the negative elements that can harm them both pedagogically and psychically should be taken into account. The rights of the child should not be neglected in order to attract the attention of the public, to increase the rates of monitoring, to a commercial success or to a good career. The approach of photographers to children and the ways in which children are represented in the photo is an important topic that needs to be focused on. This article a series of photographs on children with an important place in the photographic history or attracted attention in current photographic practices, aims to be examined through the form and content within periods, to analyze the relationship between each other and to evaluate in the context of the rights of the child. This study, which includes text and work analysis, aims to raise awareness of children’s ways of visualization and to contribute to theoretical research.
