Abstract:

Thinking skills are important skills to be given to children in accordance with the needs of the 21st century. It is known that all kinds of skills gained in the young age influence the advanced periods of life. Thinking skills are therefore one of the important skills that should be gained in the early age. This study has addressed critical thinking and creative thinking skills as thinking skills. Educational programs are important in providing children with thinking skills from early age. It is necessary to organize and update educational programs in such a way as to provide children with thinking skills. The impact of pre-school education programs on the acquisition of thinking skills in early childhood is great. This study discussed the place of thinking skills in the 2013 pre-school education program. In the research methods, document analysis was preferred from quality research methods. All the achievements and indicators included in the pre-school education program have been studied in order to acquire creative and critical thinking skills. Revised achievements and indicators are classified according to development areas. As a result, the achievements that will develop their thinking skills are expected to be focused primarily on the cognitive sphere, while the achievements on the social-emotional sphere and the sphere of language development have also been remarkable. It is believed that in light of these results, the development of thinking skills will support all areas of development.
