Abstract:

This study has studied whether one-year preparatory education affects students’ motivational orientations of learning a foreign language. In this quantial research, a cutting-edge approach was used. The researchers used the scale developed by Hirati (2010) The scale was applied to 233 participants in a faculty of a state university in Turkey. Volunteers are selected for purposes. The data obtained from participants was used to visually report the results using the computer program through the Independent Examples T-Test. The results showed that one-year comprehensive preparatory training does not affect the motivational orientations of students to learn foreign languages in terms of gender, while the motivational orientations of students to learn foreign languages in general are affected in terms of participation in preparatory training. Finally, some educational practices have been discussed to increase the effectiveness of preparation class education by moving from the results obtained in terms of the motivational guidelines of foreign language learning of students.
