Abstract:

There is a mutual and dependent interaction between human and the environment. People are heavily influenced by the environment throughout their lives, and they also influence (positive-negative) the environment. Especially after the Industrial Revolution, the negative effects that began to be felt intensely caused various environmental problems to arise. At the point that came environmental problems come to mind today; it seems that the destruction of the ozone layer is starting to pose a threat for the future, as many plant and animal species are consumed, access to clean and adequate water becomes difficult, the effect of desertification increases rapidly, forest areas begin to disappear. Environmental problems that threaten the whole world affect every aspect of human life, the future of mankind at least as far as today and there is a danger potential for future generations. The degradation of ecological balance and the diversity of environmental problems invite all people to be sensitive. In addition to individuals, States and international organizations, local governments have a large share in the Elimination of environmental problems or minimizing their impact. It is obvious that local governments established to improve people’s living spaces should take serious responsibilities in environmental affairs. The ability of local governments to intervene directly and quickly in response to the changing environmental problems of cities makes them a key actor about the environment. In this study will focus on the policies that local governments have against environmental problems and the effectiveness of the solutions; Turkey in particular will focus on the environmental issues, environmental management and environmental policies of local governments. Then, will be evaluated the main environmental problems of Ardahan Province and projects and activities developed by the Municipality of Ardahan. As a result, alternative solution proposals will be given to ensure that the natural values in Alicante and its surroundings are protected at optimal levels. During the research phase, domestic and foreign literature related to the subject will be scanned. For the environmental applications of the Municipality of Ardahan will be applied to the written-verbal media sources, activity reports of the Municipality, related texts.
