Abstract:

Children's programs on TV attract attention with visually rich content. In the study, it is aimed to consider the issue of effectuality of children's programs on television on the development of visual perception for children who need special education. For this purpose, interview and observation techniques were used to collect data, 5 children's television programs were observed and parental views were investigated about the impact of children's television programs to the development of visual perception of children with special needs. In the study, 25 of parents' opinions have been taken whose children are being educated in special education institutions connected to Ministry of National Education in 2011 - 2012 academic year in Elazig city center. Obtained findings have revealed that, children's programs on TV have an effective role on the development of the child visual perception.
