Abstract:

This study, aimed at determining the views of pre-school teachers on scientific activities, was carried out on 30 pre-school teachers who work in the native and independent kindergarten in Ankara and Antalya province center. When the data obtained as a result of semi-structured discussions are analyzed, it is determined that pre-school teachers have a high awareness of the scientific activities, that they do not receive a training related to the scientific activities outside of the bachelor’s education, that they consider their scientific activities necessary before school and that they have a positive view on the effectiveness of the scientific activities. The teachers have taken advantage of the pre-prepared examples in planning the effects of science, they participate in the scientific activity every day, the competence is discussed in their classes, there is a science learning center, they think the scientific activities are extremely effective in achieving the goal, and they think the scientific activities have positive effects such as providing permanent learning, increasing attention and perception, giving children the opportunity to learn by living, increasing their life experiences and self-confidence.
