Abstract:

This research was carried out to study the relationship between the effective communication skills of pre-school children and their social skills. The universe of research was formed by children who continued their motherhood in the center of the district of Zorum. Ten children randomly selected from each class and a total of 160 children formed the sample of the study. The study used the “Personal Information Form” as a data collection tool, the “Private and maternal Behavior Scale” (Social Skills Scale Department) and the “5-6-year-old children’s communication skills assessment scale”. The obtained data was analyzed with the SPSS 20 package program and used the relative research method. The social skills levels of children and the level of effective communication skills are grouped to low, medium and high. Correlation analysis has been conducted to determine the relationship between children's effective communication skills and social cooperation, social independence-social acceptance and social interaction skills. The study found that the level of effective communication skills of children increased, the level of social cooperation, social independence, social acceptance and social interaction increased. In line with these findings, recommendations were presented to educators, parents and researchers.
