In this work relationship between technological change and competitiveness in Turkish economy were emprically tested by applying VAR analysis on 1970-2010 term annual data. Total number of residents and nonresidents patent applications was used as the indicator of the technological change. As the measure of competitiveness two different indexis that indicate the competitiveness of the Turkish manufacturing in the world were calculated by using “Revealed Comperative Advantage” that was developed by Balassa (1965) and competitiveness index developed by Vollrath (1971). Our model also includes real effective exchange rate and gross domestic product that can effect the competitiveness. In conclusion, a positive correlation between technological change and competitiveness was observed
