Abstract:

With the reorganization of Eurepean cities the urban transformation that took place on the historical stage brought along the questioning of urban regeneration practices, the preservation of urban identity and the adaptation of urban practices to these practices. Protecting the identity of city has created public awareness through the influence of social media. The purpose of this study is to determine the social media arguments about whether the practices that have been misled by the process of urban transformation match the identity of the city. In the study; tweets under the hashtags related to the urban transformation in twitter that is one of the social media circles were taken as the universe and the tweets were selected as the sample until the satisfaction of the analysis of the discourse. So; the sampling of the study has been determined by sampling. The tweets included in the sample were subjected to discourse analysis.
