Abstract:

In this study the causes of traffic accidents were researched by using primary and secondary data. The main findings of the research are; the lack of traffic planning; the lack of institutionalization of traffic management and professionalization; the lack of reliable and up to date traffic statistics; the inappropriate traffic system that road safety and environmental factors are not sufficiently taken into account; Ignoring the demographic phenomenon of traffic measures taken as a palliative; the lack of police patrols; the inappropriate driver’s license system that does not overlap with the contemporary realities; and the absence of the required traffic education especially for children
