Abstract:

The aim of this study is to evaluate the impact on the achievements of some social information curriculum included in the science-based and interdisciplinary school garden program (OBP) developed within the framework of the Free Activity Studies Course (SECD) in terms of different variables. In the study, the semi-experimental method used the pre-test-final test pattern of the equal control group. The examples of the study consist of a total of 187 5th-class students studying in 6 different branches of the "A" high school in the center of the province of Trabzon in the educational and educational year 2010-2011. 93 of these students are in the control group, while 94 are in the experiment group. The Social Information Course, developed by researchers as a data collection tool in the study, has taken advantage of the Academic Success Test (SBDABT). The obtained data was evaluated through the SPSS 15.00 package program and used the t-test, quarry analysis (ANCOVA) and two-way variance analysis (ANOVA) test in data analysis. At the end of the study, the conclusion was that OBP contributed to the increase in student academic achievements in terms of social information course achievements. This contribution is
