Abstract:

This study is designed to determine the attitudes of nursing students towards the elderly. This research, which is of a defining type, was carried out with a total of 321 first, second, third and fourth-class students who studied at the Department of Nursing at the Faculty of Health Sciences of the University of Kırıkkale in the 2015-2016 educational and educational year. The data was obtained using the survey form and the UCLA Elderly Attitude Scale. Identifying statistics were used in the evaluation of the results, Kruskal Wallis, Mann Whitney statistical analysis methods. The study finds meaningful relationships between the sex and class of students and the scale’s total score, but there are no meaningful relationships between the long-term place, the living status of an elderly in the house with himself, the place of living of the grandmother and grandfather, the state of previous visit and the scale’s total score.
