Abstract:

A Persian divan by a person who used Askerî as a pseudonym, recorded with the number 1668 at Carullah collection in S üleymaniye Library. The last three leaves of this divan were written with Çağatay Turkish and 8 pieces of verses were existed in these leaves. As understood from his Persian and Turkish poems, Askerî had came from Central Asia to Istanbul and stayed there for a while during the reign of Suleyman, the Magnificent. Although there is not enough information about his life, some comments could be done about him as a poet by evaluating his Persian and Turkish poems. In this paper, first, some information about Askerî and his Turkish poems and the texts of his Turkish poems are going to be given.
