Abstract:

In general book reviews are written in prose with a bit exception. When Mehmet Akif’s “Âsım” was published in 1924 as a book, Halil Nihat greeted this work by producing a review of “Âsım” in verse. Boztepe poduced this review in the form of mesnevi and satirical naration. It is thus closely associated with style of Mehmet Akif, making it remarkably important in regard to literature/literary studies. This presentation will examine Halil Nihat’s review on Akif’s “Âsım” entitled “New Books: Âsım,” included in his book Mâhitâb first published in Arabic letters in 1924 within its own context and style. In addition, attaching the text written by Halil Nihat in 1924 to introduce "Âsim" in Arabic letters at the end of the article, will serve both to understand better this article and to provide contribution and convenience to researchers of this field.
