İş yaşamında ve yönetim anlayışındaki değişmelere bağlı olarak bilim ve teknolojideki hızlı değişim ve gelişmelere ayak uydurmak, ekonomide yeniden yapılanmaya hızlı geçiş sağlamak, artan işsizlik ve iş stresini azaltmak, verimlilik ve rekabeti artırmak, çalışanlara ve topluma fayda sağlamak için çalışma / iş yaşam kalitesi geliştirilmektedir (Uysal, 2003: 1: Serbest, 2000: 27, 28, Lowe, 2000: 3). Çalışmanın amacı, hastanede çalışan personelin çalışma / iş yaşam kalitesini belirlemektir. Çalışanların çalışma / iş yaşam kalitesi, güvenilir ve sağlıklı çalışma koşulları, beceri geliştirme ve kullanma fırsatları, sürekli gelişim ve iyileştirme fırsatları, organizasyona sosyal entegrasyon, organizasyondaki yasalar, çalışma ve özel yaşam alanı, çalışma / iş yaşamının sosyal boyutu ve yeterli ve adil ücretlendirme boyutları incelenilerek ölçülmüştür. Verilerin analizinde iki ortalama arasındaki farkın önemlilik testi (t testi), Mann-Whitney U testi ve Kruskal-Wallis testinden faydalanılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda çalışanların demografik özelliklerine göre farklılıklar bulunmuştur.
