Abstract:

During the process of forming political thought in Turkey, intellectuals who are originally literary men have played an important role. In this path, it is possible to say there has been a tradition created by poets such as from Tevfik Fikret to Namık Kemal, from Nazım Hikmet to Sezai Karakoç, representing a large scale of political stance respectively from Ottoman Empire to Turkish Republic. In other words, poets contributed to the Turkish political tradition formation by their articles, actions and attitudes. Necip Fazıl Kısakürek, cited and referred in a proper way in political Islamism is an important name calling new polemics and discussions in consideration of his thoughts and his systematic political approach.Islamism throughly; and the roadmap he proposed for putting into action the Idea has already been considered by other esteemed thinkers. However, it is also a fact Necip Fazıl has a very prestigious place in that community. So, the reasons of this situation are counted as: his sophisticated and elegant literary style, his active role in instutional political arena so that almost every right-wing political party can get its hands on him and finally the political image reflecting the polarity between Nazım Hikmet and him. As a matter of fact, Necip Fazıl’s poetic style is equipped with illustrious visional images, conceptional dualities which contribute to understand him easily and literary fluency. Finally the other iconic poet Nazım Hikmet’s place in left-wing eye contributes to Necip Fazıl’s place to be immortal
