Abstract:

In this study, it is examined that the economics of the efficient of level 2 regions according to criterion of Statistical Regional Units Classification or Nomenclature of Territorial Units for Statistics (NUTS) in Turkey the period between 2007-2008. A measurement method to find the parameters of economic activities in the provinces with Data Envelopment Analysis(DEA) is used. In the analysis for each regions is taken per capita public investment, incentive certificates investment, total bank loans as an input and the gross value added, employed, a number of opened business and foreign trade balance as output. To deliver reasonable results a Tobit model is considered in a second stage to examine the degree to which “input-output variables” impact on the economics of the efficient of level 2 regions.
