Abstract:

The aim of this study is to develop a valid and reliable measurement tool that will demonstrate the achievements of 6th grade students in the subject of "Light and Sound". For this purpose, a sign tab was created in accordance with the achievements, 24 already selected and 7 open end questions were prepared. After the expert opinion, 20 have already been selected and 5 open end questions have been obtained. The first pilot application of the test was carried out with 20 students, making the questions more clear and the time of application of the test was determined. The prepared test was applied to 200 students who studied in the 6th class of six high school in Kayseri during the spring period of the 2015-2016 academic year. As a result of the material analysis performed with Excel and SPSS programs, a question has been removed from the test and the number of already selectively asked questions has been reduced to 19. The final success test consists of a total of 24 questions, including 19 already selected and 5 open ends. The average matter difficulty and differentiability index for the final success test already selected questions are calculated as 0.64 and 0.60 respectively, while the average matter difficulty and differentiability index for the open end questions are calculated as 0.53 and 0.66 respectively. 7 of the questions are easy, 17 are medium difficult, and 24 are all very well distinguished. Furthermore, the Cronbach alpha reliability ratio for already selectively asked questions was 0.844 . Scorecards-inter-confidence ratio calculated for open end questions 0. Since it is greater than 70, it has been shown that there is a relatively high, positive and meaningful relationship between the scores for all the materials. These findings show that the success test developed has valid and reliable results to the extent that teachers can use in scientific studies and evaluation processes.
