Bu çalışmanın amacı Sosyal Bilgiler dersi ile demokratik değerler ve demokratik eğitim arasındaki ilişkiyi incelemektir. Değerler eğitimini oluşturan temel değerlerden bir tanesi de demokratik değerlerdir. Demokratik değerler Sosyal Bilgiler dersi için oldukça önemlidir. Demokratik bir toplum yapısında demokratik değerleri oluşturan değerlerin nasıl ve ne şekilde öğretileceği konusu oldukça tartışılmıştır. Bununla beraber Sosyal Bilgiler eğitimi programının içeriği ve diğer değerlerle olan ilişkisi açısından Sosyal Bilgiler dersinin böyle bir misyonunun olduğu görülmüştür. Demokratik değerlerin öğretimi açısından bir diğer önemli dayanak noktası da demokratik eğitimdir. Demokratik değerlerin ve demokratik eğitimin birbirini tamamlar nitelikte olduğu görülmüştür.
The aim of this study is to study the relationship between the Social Information course and democratic values and democratic education. One of the fundamental values that form education is democratic values. Democratic values are very important for the social knowledge course. The issue of how and how the values that constitute democratic values in a democratic society structure are highly discussed. However, in terms of the content of the Social Information Education program and its relationship with other values, the Social Information course has been seen to have such a mission. Another important element in the teaching of democratic values is democratic education. Democratic values and democratic education have been seen as complementary to each other.
