Abstract:

This research was done to determine how pre-school teachers attract the attention of children and keep their attention in the process of activities. The research method is chosen as a research model. The study included 36 pre-school teachers who worked in their maternity schools and in their primary education departments in the province of Kütahya. The research data was collected with semi-configured interview questions. The data is categorized by content analysis. According to the research findings, pre-school teachers see the phenomenon of attention as the first condition to learn, the factors that distract the attention of children are the other friends, their physiological needs and the physical environment. Looking at the findings about the ways teachers attract attention, it has been determined that teachers use their voices and body language. Teachers have pointed out that they are trying to pay attention using verbal and nonverbal stimulators, and that they are preparing for Turkish and reading writing as an activity that is distributed with attention.
