Abstract:

Ouml;zet Bu makale, ilkouml;ğretim ikinci kademe (orta okul) ve lise seviyesinde, coğrafya eğitiminde Cumhuriyetin kuruluşundan guuml;nuuml;muuml;ze kadar yapılan değişiklikleri sunmaktadır. Bu değişiklikler belirli periyotlar halinde, ders proğramları, ouml;ğretim metotları, coğrafya dersinde kullanılan materyaller ve ouml;lccedil;me değerlendirmeyi iccedil;ine alacak şekilde incelenmiştir. Coğrafya eğitimine ayrılan zaman, konuların iccedil;eriği ve ders isimleri bakımından duuml;nyanın bir ccedil;ok uuml;lkesine gouml;re karmaşık bir yapı gouml;stermektedir. Bunda, uuml;lkemizin jeopolitik konumunun ouml;nemli rol oynadığı anlaşılmaktadır. Diğer taraftan, uuml;lkemizdeki politik nbsp; kararsızlıklar zaman iccedil;erisinde coğrafya eğitiminde dalgalanmalara neden olmuş, bazı douml;nemlerde coğrafya eğitimi eğitim muuml;fredatları iccedil;inde ihmal edilmiştir. Coğrafya eğitiminde suuml;rekliliğin korunamaması ve ccedil;ok detaylı proğramların hazırlanmamış olması, buuml;tuuml;n ouml;ğrencilerimizin aynı oranda coğrafya bilgisine sahip olmalarını engellemektedir. nbsp; Anahtar Kelimeler: Coğrafya Eğitimi, Ders Programları, Lise ve İlkouml;ğretim Okulları nbsp; Abstract This paper presents an overview of Turkish geographic education at the high school level in terms of geography curricula, teaching methods, teaching materials, and assessments. nbsp; Geographic education system was reviewed and investigated starting from the begining of 20th century until 1990s. Turkish high schools are very complex and developed in terms of time allocation, richness of content, and course numbers. The geopolitics of the country has played a big role in geographic education as well. However, the instability of the political system has caused fluctuation over time and geographic education sometimes became very neglected and some periods of time became very powerful in school curricula. nbsp; nbsp; Key Words: Geographic education, Geography curricula, K-12 schools, High school geography curriculum
