Abstract:

All structures, processes and systems for people with disabilities must have certain features, notably accessibility, and these features must be developed in the course of time. In this study, it is aimed to evaluate expectations of people with disabilities from tourism services thoroughly. In this context, it was tried to gather opinions related to expectations of administrators of concerned public bodies and non-governmental organisations, people with disabilities and their families. Two measurement tools were developed and used in order to gather research data, first of which is an information form with demographic information about interviewees on, and the other one contains semi-constructed interview questions. In this study, it was set that major barriers before people with disabilities for joining tourism mobility were; economical, physical and transportation related factors. It was manifested that, if the above mentioned conditions were provided, all kinds of touristic activities in the scope of accessible tourism would gratify disabled people
