Araştırma hemşirelik son sınıf öğrencilerinde “Doğum ve Ebeveynliğe Hazırlık” dersinin doğum korkusu ve travmatik doğum algısına etkisini incelemek amacıyla gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırma ön test son test desenli tek gruplu bir müdahale araştırmasıdır. Araştırmanın örneklemini İzmir’de bir üniversitenin hemşirelik bölümü 4. sınıfında öğrenim gören ve “Doğum ve Ebeveynliğe Hazırlık” dersini alan 62 kız öğrenci oluşturmuştur. Araştırmanın verileri ‘Demografik Bilgi Formu, Gebelik Öncesi Doğum Korkusu Ölçeği ve Travmatik Doğum Algısı Ölçeği ile toplanmıştır. Öğrencilere, dönem başında dersin ilk haftası veri toplama formları ile ön test uygulanmıştır. Bir dönem süresince araştırmacı tarafından haftada 2 saat, 16 hafta öğrencilerle ilgili ders işlenmiştir. Dönem sonunda öğrencilere veri toplama formları son test olarak tekrar uygulanmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda öğrencilerin yaş ortalaması 22,3±0,7 olarak saptanmıştır. Öğrencilere kendi doğumlarını hangi yöntem ile yapmak istedikleri sorulduğunda % 67,7’si normal doğum, %21,1’i epidural anestezi ile normal doğum yapmak istediklerini belirtmiştir. Eğitim öncesi öğrencilerin “Gebelik Öncesi Doğum Korkusu” ölçek puan ortalaması 41,7±8,3, eğitim sonrası ise 37,7±9,4 olarak hesaplanmış ve aradaki farkın istatistiksel olarak anlamlı olduğu saptanmıştır. Eğitim öncesi “Travmatik Doğum Algısı Ölçeği” puan ortalaması 70,2±22,6, eğitim sonrası ise 61,7±25,9 olarak hesaplanmış ve aradaki farkın istatistiksel olarak anlamlı olduğu saptanmıştır. Araştırma doğum ve ebeveynliğe hazırlık dersinin öğrencilerin doğum korkularını travmatik doğum algılarını azalttığını ortaya koymuştur.

The research was carried out in order to study the effect of the course "Generation and Parental Preparation" on birth fear and traumatic birth perception in the final class of nursing students. Research is a single-group intervention research with the last test pattern. The examples of the study were made by 62 girls who studied in the 4th grade of the University’s nursing department in İzmir and took the course “Preparation for Birth and Parentality”. The data of the study was collected with the Demographic Information Form, Pregnancy Fear Scale and Traumatic Birth Perception Scale. Students are subjected to a preliminary test with data collection forms in the first week of the course at the beginning of the semester. During a semester, the researcher processed 2 hours a week, 16 weeks of classes related to students. At the end of the period, the data collection forms were reapplicated to students as the final test. The study found that the average age of students was 22.3±0.7. When asked what method they wanted to do their births, 67.7% said they wanted to do normal births and 21.1% said they wanted to do normal births with epidural anesthesia. The scale scale score of pre-educational students "Pre-gravity birth fear" is 41,7±8,3 and post-educational is 37,7±9,4 and the difference between them is statistically meaningful. The pre-traumatic birth perception scale is the average score of 70.2±22.6 and the post-traumatic score of 61.7±25.9 and the difference is statistically meaningful. Research has shown that the pregnancy and parental preparation course reduces students' birth fears to their traumatic birth perceptions.

The sample of the study consisted of 62 female students who took the “Preparing for Childbirth and Parenting” lesson and studying in the 4th grade of a university nursing department. The data of the research were collected with the Demographic Information Form, Childbirth Fear – Prior to Pregnancy Scale and Scale of Traumatic Birth Perception. The students were pretested with data collection forms in the first week of the course at the beginning of the semester. During the semester, 2 hours a week, 16 weeks lessons with students were taught by the researcher. At the end of the semester, data collection forms were re-applied to the students as post-test. As a result of the research, the average age of the students was determined as 22.3±0.7. When the students were asked which method they would like to give their own births, 67.7% stated as a normal birth and 21.1% stated as a normal birth with epidural anesthesia. The mean score of the “Childbirth Fear – Prior to Pregnancy Scale” scale before training was calculated as 41.7±8.3 and 37.7 ± 9.4 after education, and the difference was found to be statistically significant. The mean scores of the “Traumatic Birth Perception Scale” before the the lesson was calculated as 70.2±22.6, and after the lesson was 61.7 ±25.9 and the difference was found to be statistically significant.
