Abstract:

The objective of this study is to determine the views of applying academics on the start of the School Experience course for newly winning students in the bachelor's programmes updated by the Higher Education Institute (YOK) in the 2018-2019 educational year, the addition to the Teaching Application course, the Teaching Application 2 and how the course reflects the teaching profession. The research was conducted with a total of 30 academics selected from volunteers from Applied Academics in Mathematics and Science Education and Basic Education Departments at a state university’s educational faculty in the 2018-2019 academic year. In the study, the case study method from the quality research patterns, as a data collection tool, was also used the conversation form developed by the researchers and the content analysis was made. In the study, the answers obtained from the interview form were submitted and interpreted from the results. When we look at the topic of the place of the School Experience course in the program, most practical academics have pointed out that the course should not rise and that this course is necessary to recognize the school environment. Moreover, many practical academics have accepted the opinion that the teaching candidates are removed because they are not active in this course and that the teaching practice-I course is more logical. When we look at the topic of the place of the Teaching Applied Course in the program, many applying academics call this change a positive situation because the chances of applying with the new program are increased. There are also those who argue that the teaching practice course cannot meet the school experience course and will remain insufficient in recognition of the school.
