Abstract:

This study aims to identify the attitudes and views of 30 teachers candidates who are registered in the 7th course in the Department of Computer and Teaching Technologies and the relationship between STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics / Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) and the practices, engineering, technology and the relations between these disciplines. The karma research scheme has been used to determine the opinions of teachers candidates on STEM training and practices. Data in the study, before and after application, demographic data survey, Faber, etc. The STEM attitude scale developed by (2012) is collected with a semi-configured interview form prepared by experienced experts in the field. According to the findings obtained, the teaching candidates; their attitudes towards STEM education have not shown a significant difference according to the status of gender and personal computer, the only 20 year old teaching candidates have the STEM pre-test and science pre-test results higher than the 22 year old group. Through STEM training and practices, the teaching candidates have found that their thoughts on this training have changed in a positive direction, their preferences have decreased and their interest in these fields has increased, and the teaching candidates have emphasized the need for STEM training to be included in the teaching programs, and the teachers who receive this training will play an important role in developing the critical and creative thinking skills of the students, in the problem-solving skills and in increasing their interest in the courses, and after graduation they want to use STEM training in their courses.
